Politikini.com™ launches Obama, Clinton and McCain Swimwear
Los Angeles, CA, April 14,2008 – Politikini.com™, a fun shopping web portal, launches the Obama, Clinton and McCain swimwear line – made in the USA - to meet the demand for political fashion. Wear what you think is the motto, get behind your favorite candidate is the action.
To tap into the momentum of choosing the democratic candidate, the initial line consists of two bikini designs featuring the name of either Obama or Clinton as signature at the back of the bikini bottom. The black design is available with flat golden studs whereas the white model imprints the candidates names in blue with red trim.
Both bikinis sell retail for $49 (each) and are only available at Politikini.com. Shortly the line will be extended to man’s swim trunks.
Fashion has always been used to express beliefs, ideals, and the convictions of the wearer. “People can buy a lot of political fashion but until now, there has never been the opportunity to express your convictions via swimwear“, says designer Antonia Serrell-Watts, an immigrant from Germany. “I can’t vote but yet I am politically interested. I just wanted to be part of this year’s historical election circus.”
The idea came to her as she followed the Super-Tuesday in California while driving to the beach in Santa Monica. “Here I was walking my dog at the beach but all that me and my friends could talk about, was who they are going to vote for. Then it struck me: Why not print your favorite candidates name there, where most eyes are checking you out: At your bottom.”
Neither candidate will profit from the sale of the swimwear line since Politikini.com is officially not supporting any party. “We hope that our bikini line will raise awareness for young people to become politically more involved and vote“, says Antonia Serrell-Watts, founder of Politikini.com and concludes: “It’s a simple fact that there are over 42 Million voters between 18 and 30 years old and they are constantly looking for new and hip ways to communicate their viewpoints,“.
